The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Warri Correspondents’ Chapel Commiserates with its Chairman, Mr Victor Okpomor on the demise of his father, Mr. Isaac A. Okpomor.
In a statement issued on Saturday by the chapel’s Secretary, Mr Edeki Igafe, the media correspondents described the news of the transition of the Nonagenarian as shocking.
The Chapel therefore identifies with its in a moment of grief and prayed Almighty God to grant the departed father an eternal rest.
The news of the demise of Pa Okpomor was devastating to the chapel particularly at a time the family and the Obrumudu Community needed him most to tap from his pool of wisdom.
The Chapel therefore prayed God to grant the family, community and the entire Oghara Kingdom in Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Pa Okpomor who transited on 17th October, 2023 at the age of 95, was until his death, a retired health worker, a successful farmer, devoted Christian and community leader in Obrumudu, Oghara Kingdom in Ethiope West.
Pa Okpomor who was survived by many children among whom is Mr Victor Okpomor was known for his truthfulness, honesty and a voice to the voiceless- legacies that may be difficult to equal in the community.
Part of the statement reads:” We are extremely proud of you, you have created a vacuum that may be difficult to fill in the test of time. However, we take solace in the Lord with the belief that you rest peacefully in the Bosom of our Lord and we hope that your transition brings endurable peace to the family, community and entire Ethiope West”
