Chevron Nigeria Limited (“CNL”), operator of the joint venture between the Nigerian National petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and CNL has reaffirmed its commitment to socio-economic development of Niger Delta. The organization made this known during a visit of CNL and NDDC to the Delta State government in Asaba, the state capital which took on 12th March 2026.
In press statement signed by Olusoga Oduselu, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Chevron Nigeria and Mid-Africa Region and made available to newsmen said, the Director and Chief Operating Officer, Chevron Nigeria and Mid- Africa Region, Segun Kuteyi highlighted the organization’s belief that the construction of the road would potentially improve connectivity and foster economic development in the region.
According to him, he is very much aware of the importance of building the required synergy with the Delta State government through the project lifecycle. He said, CNL believed that a collaborative approach with various stakeholders including government agencies, local communities, and private sector partners would deliver best value and the NDDC, being the initiator of the project, is a critical stakeholder in the project.
According to him, the multinational oil and gas company has demonstrated interest in stakeholders’ discussions with respect of the proposed Escravos to Warri Road Project just as he said CNL would continue to partner with the Niger Delta Development Commission (“NDDC”) and Delta State Government to understand the proposal.
His words: “Nigeria’s Road Infrastructure Development and Refurbishment Investment Tax Credit Scheme (RITCS) provides a framework that may incentivize eligible private sector participation,” He said added that the organization would continue to collaborate with the Nigerian government and other stakeholders to support the development of the Nigerian oil and gas industry and the Nigerian economy.
