All roads lead to Idjerhe Kingdom in Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State on Sunday, 18th January, 2026 as HM Obukowho Monday Arthur Whiskey JP Udurhe I, Ovie of Great Idjerhe Kingdom celebrates his 5th coronation and 60th birthday anniversaries. The ceremony which is billed to take place at Ovie’s Palace at Otorho Idjerhe at about 10:00 am is expected to be graced by sons and daughters of the soil, both far and near, traditional rulers, top government functionaries, captain of industries and others.
The ceremony is expected to be Chaired by Chief Fedelix Tilije, the Hon. Commissioner for Finance, Delta State while the Royal Father of the day is HRM Major General Felix Mujakperuo(Rtd), the Orhue I, the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom who doubled as Chairman of Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers. By this, all and sundry are invited to grace the auspicious occasion. Meanwhile, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Warri Correspondents’ Chapel has heartily congratulated the Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom, HM King Obukowho Monday Arthur Whiskey JP, Udurhe I as he marked 5th year on the throne of his fore bearers and 60th year on planet earth.
In a press statement signed by the Union’s Chairman, Victor Okpomor and the Secretary, Edeki Igafe Secretary and made available to newsmen, the Union said the reign of the Royal Father in Idjerhe Kingdom for the past five years has brought about peace, unity and development to his people. According to the statement, the impacts of his reign have not only been felt in Idjerhe Kingdom but the state and the country at large.
“His Majesty, your reign in the past five years has undoubtedly ushered in immeasurable peace, unity and development to Idjerhe Kingdom. Sir, no doubt, the impacts of your reign have transcended beyond Idjerhe Kingdom and still counting.”, part of the statement reads. According to the Union, the Royal Father’s supports, moral and invaluable pieces of advice to the Warri Correspondents’ Chapel are not unnoticed as they would continue to be. The body therefore prayed that God Almighty should continue to grant the Monarch wisdom, knowledge and strength to rule his people to an enviable height.
“Sir, as you mark your 5th coronation anniversary which coincides with your 60th birthday, we pray God Almighty to continue to grant you the wisdom, knowledge and strength to govern your people and move the kingdom to an enviable height“, part of the statement reads. The Chapel therefore wishes him success and good health as he continues to deliver impactful reign to his subjects. “May your reign continue to bring incredible blessings to Idjerhe Kingdom”, the statement concluded.
