Members of Yonwuren College, Ugbuwangue, Warri Old Students Association (YOCOSA-85/86/87), have expressed deep sadness over the death of their illustrious member, Mary Alidu, describing her passing as a huge loss to the association. Speaking at a condolence visit to late Mary Alidu’s family, at Okere, Warri, by a high-powered delegation of YOCOSA members, Chairman of YOCOSA, Mr. Fredrick Olomuro described her death as a rude shock, saying that members of YOCOSA are seriously devastated by her sudden demise.
Mr. Olomuro, described Mary as a friendly, cheerful and humble lady whose life reflected honour, dignity and service to humanity. He added that late Mary imparted to society a legacy of humility, peaceful disposition and friendly gesture. He encouraged late Mary Alidu’s younger brother, Mr. Daniel Alidu to be strong and put his trust in the lord, the great comforter in times of griefs. Continuing, he assured Mr. Daniel that YOCOSA would play its role in the burial of its member, late Mary Alidu to accord her a befitting last respect.
Also speaking, Comrade Emeka Nwokocha and Mr. Best Ogun, described late Mary as a friendly lady of modest character. They recalled the good memories of their days in school, saying that Mary Alidu was their class mate of the class 1985 of Yonwuren College, Ugbuwangue, Warri. They encouraged late Mary’s younger brother, Daniel to put his hope in God this mourning period, and prayed to God to grant him the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Responding, Mr. Daniel Alidu thanked the members of YOCOSA for the condolence visit, saying that such gesture underscores the great love the association accords its members. Daniel assured members of YOCOSA that he would regularly communicate to them the arrangements of the burial of his late sister. The condolence visit was rounded off with prayers said by Mrs. Omawumi Esoko, and Pastor Leonard Udoh.
The high powered delegation of YOCOSA members at the condolence visit comprised Mr. Fredrick Olomuro, Comrade Emeka Nwokocha, Pastor Leonard Udoh, Mrs. Elizabeth Edefa, Mr. Best Ogun, Mrs. Omawumi Esoko, Mrs. Josephine Agboire, and Pastor Cletus Esene.
