The Itsekiri Ethnic Nationality said they would not accept Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) redelineation of units and wards in the Warri Federal Constituency adding, the Commission has denied them of what actually is theirs.
In a communique presented by Chief Brown Mene on behalf of the people at the end of press conference held today, Monday at Preston Royal Event Centre, in Ugbuwangue in Warri, in Warri South Local Government Area of the state, the people said, they are not against the Supreme Court Judgement but they demand fairness, equity, and justice from INEC. According to the communique, they alleged that there is much biasness and illegality that are associated with execution of the said judgment which shows, going by the co-ordinates, the polling units and wards that are created by INEC do not correspondent with the actual location on ground.

The Itsekiri Ethnic Nationality, called on the Federal Government to set up an independent commission of inquiry to prove that the action of INEC on the redelineation exercise of polling units and wards in Warri Federal Constituency was created on wrong footing. Part of the communique reads:” As law abiding citizens, we are not against the execution of Supreme Court order on the redelineation of Warri Federal Constituency Polling Units, Wards, we demand fairness, equity and justice from INEC”

According to the communique, the people also demanded that after the thorough investigation,any of the officers found culpable in the entire exercise should be punished to serve as deterrent to others who want to do the same in future. In the communique, the people also demanded the immediate implementation of all judicial decisions in Warri Federal Constituency including that of Court of Appeal Judgement on the 10-Ward structure of Warri South Local Government Area. They further said, they are sure that if the Federal Government is able to effect the correction as it supposed to be, justice would have been done.
Part of the communique reads:” If the Federal Government is able to do this for us, we believe that justice would have been served”. The press conference which was well attended by many sons and daughters of Iwere Kingdom from far and near saw how INEC allegedly shortchanged Itsekiri Ethnic Nationality on the said exercise.
