Honour is given to whom honour is due as recently the Onotu-Uku of Abbi Okwele Kingdom in Ndokwa West Local Government Area, Delta State, High Chief lsaac Okpor conferred Chief Felix Ujene, distinguished indigene of the kingdom with the exalted Chieftaincy title of the Ozorjiniogbe of Abbi Kingdom.
In an interview with the Journalists shortly after the conferment with the title, the Onotu-Uku Abbi Okwele Kingdom said that Chief Felix Ujene was conferred with the exalted title because he is humble, honest, respectful and obedient his just as he said it is his preparedness and willingness to attain such position and serve good people of the kingdom better. He described the Chief Felix Ujene’s ceremony as the first of its kind in the history of Chieftaincy title in Abbi- Okwele Community, just as he urged the Ozorjiniogbe of Abbi Okwele kingdom to remain focused and honest his dealings with the entire Council of Chiefs and the people of the community,
On the forth-coming popular Ukwata Festival, Onotu-Uku Abbi Okwele Kingdom said his entire Council of Chiefs are fully prepared to flag -up by way co-ordinations and supervising the feast in the peaceful kingdom.
On his part, Ozorjiniogbe of Abbi-Okwele Kingdom, Chief Felix Uje said what actually inspired him to take the Chieftaincy title is that, the Chiefs in the Community gets much honour and respect from the members of the community in general adding that community Chiefs also have some key functions to play which made them to be more respected by the members of the society. Among other things, they settle dispute in the community which enhances peace, law and orderliness in the entire community. According to him ,by his age, he is already overdue to belong to the Council of Chiefs in the community adding that he has a good background that will make people to respect him in Abbi-Okwele Kingdom.
He assured the people that he was fully prepared to work with the Council of Chiefs to ensure that they carry out their functions as expected of them following the laid down rules and regulations in the kingdom. According to him, he was ready to work with other Chiefs to move the kingdom forward just as he gave the assurance that as a company worker, he would always make out time to play his roles as expected of him.
His words: “l used this medium to appreciate my family members, friends and entire guests who took time off their busy schedule to grace the occasion, their presence has contributed to the success of the ceremony“.
