The Delta State Police Command has arrested one suspected armed robber, recovered three- locally -made guns, cartridges, suspected stolen tricycle just as it arrested a suspected fake military personal and recovered a military uniform in Delta Community.
In a press release signed by the Delta State Police Command Image Maker, DSP Bright Edafe and made available to newsmen said on the 12th March,2023 at about 0900hrs, operatives of Eagle-Net Special Squad, while on intensive Aberdeen system of patrol, sighted a tricycle with reg. no. RRU 773 QK conveying three male occupants.
The statement said, they were intercepted and subjected to a search during which a bag containing rice was thoroughly searched to see that three (3) locally- made- guns, one- live cartridge, were concealed in the bag of rice. The statement said, it was then two of the suspects took to their heels and escaped into the bush, abandoning the tricycle, and the rider named Ahmed Umaru “m” 26yrs of Ayingba LGA Kogi State was arrested, and the exhibit recovered. The statement said, efforts are on to arrest the fleeing suspects are ongoing.

In a related development, the Command got information about a syndicate in Asaba planning to cause trouble in the state as they disguised as military personnel to deceive their unsuspecting victims. The statement said the Commissioner of Police Delta State Command CP Ari Muhammed Ali, FCIA, psc+ detailed combined team from the Department of Operations Cobra 11 comprising of operatives from Response Squad, Raiders Squad and Operations Department.
The statement said, they embarked on intelligence operation on the 12th March at about, the team stormed their hide out around Okwe Axis Asaba in Oshimili South LGA saying, they able arrest Mike Okon ‘m’ 27yrs and Wilson Sunday ‘m’ 24 years both from Cross-Rivers State and when they were searched, army camouflage uniform, a pair of black jungle boot were recovered from Mike Okon, while three (3) green Berets, one(1) black berets were recovered from Wilson Sunday.
