Reports reaching Bailout Magazine say the Delta State Police Command has arrested two armed robbery suspects namely: Eddy Aboyowa ‘m’ age 37 years, and Akpan Isaiah ‘m’ age 35 years both are of Eyiejuku street off Deco Road, Warri and items recovered from them are thirty (30) rounds of 7.62 AK47 live ammunition.
It was gathered that this happened on 9th May, 2023 at about 2000hrs, where the DPO ‘A’ Division Warri, CSP T.Y Mahmud led the divisional anti-crime patrol team out on visibility and confidence building patrol in attempt to curtail the activities of kidnappers and armed robbers in Warri and its environs.
Confirming the report, the Delta State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe said the suspects were arrested during the patrol of the team as they intercepted a tricycle along Eagle Roundabout by Ugunu Bridge, conveying three occupants and they were subjected to a search which led to the discovery of the ammunition in them. Bailout Magazine learnt that at the time of filing this report, suspects are Police’ custody while investigation is ongoing.
It was learnt that, earlier, the Command’s Decoy Squad received an intelligent report on a syndicate that supplies cartridges to kidnappers, armed robbers, and cultists. It was gathered that based on this information, the Commander Decoy Squad, ASP Julius Robinson embarked on a sting operation, at about 0940hrs of 8th May 2023, and arrested one Chinedu Enenmo ‘m’ 37yrs of Akere Ogidi, Ogbaru Local Government Area, Anambra State at their hideout in one of the popular hotel in Asaba, where they hibernate and carry out their nefarious activities and the Police team recovered two hundred and fifty (250) rounds of live cartridges from the suspects.
Confirming the report, Delta State Police Command’s Public Relations, DSP Bright Edafe said in course of Police’ investigation, the suspect gave useful information about his accomplice and led the operatives to Fegge Area of Onitsha in Anambra State where one Donatus Ndukan ‘m’ 34 years of Urom Community in Awka-North Local Government Area of Anambra State whom the suspect described as his boss in the business, was also arrested saying, both suspects are in custody while investigation is ongoing
In his comment, the Commissioner of Police Delta State Command, CP Wale Abass psc was said to have praised the efforts of team just as he admonished them not to rest in their oars in flushing out crimes and criminality in the state. According DPS Bright Edafe, the Delta State Commissioner of Police assured Deltans and residents in the state of his resolute in the fight against crime and criminality just as he seeks co-operation from members of the public especially during stop and search, that though, it may inconvenience road users, it is generally for the collective good of the people and the state. He admonished them to help the Police to police them by monitoring their environments and report any suspicious persons or movement within their areas.
