In commemoration of the birth of Lord of Jesus Christ, the Ovie of Agbon Kingdom, HRM Michael Omeru, Ukori I has organized the festival of Nine Lessons and Carol. The programme which took place on Wednesday this week was held on the palace at Isiokolo, the Headquarters of Ethiope East Local Government Area Delta State.
Speaking at the occasion, the General Overseer and Founder of Word Of Life Bible Church International, Papa Ayo Oritsejafor said Jesus Christ is the reason for the season. According to him, the coming of Jesus Christ to the world is to redeem mankind. He said, human beings should extend hands of love to their neighbours just as Jesus Christ loved the world hence he died for the redemption of mankind from condemnation. According to him, whatever the wealth one possesses on earth, it is not by his power but by the power of God Almighty hence he needs to bless others by giving helping hands as no matter the position one occupies on earth – highly influential or not, one day, one will surely die.
His words: “No matter how highly you are placed in the society, one day, you enter the six feet”. According to him, it is wrong to look down on anyone whether big or small as such person could of importance to the society tomorrow. Papa Oritsejafor said, Jesus Christ was born in manger to tell the world that those that are poor very are still important and therefore, the poor should not be neglected.

He said:” The birth of Jesus Christ in manger shows that the poor is important in the society. It was not impossible that Jesus be born in palace but it happened this way to tell the world that the poor has life to live” According to him, going by the way he suffered in Lagos for three years, nobody knew he would become one of the recognized persons in the society today, but by the grace of God, he has become a vessel used by God to touch lives.
Papa Oritsejafor used the medium to appeal to HRM, Michael Omeru, Ukori I, the Ovie of Agbon Kingdom to show love to the poor on Christmas day by cooking and feeding the less privileged in the kingdom to attract more God’s blessings. While thanking the Royal Father for putting such befitting programme together, he prayed for God’s blessings, protection, and guidance as he pilots the affairs of the kingdom.
Earlier in his remarks, the Ovie of Agbon Kingdom HRM Michael Omeru Ukori I expressed gratitude for the presence of the invitees for the programme. According to him, it took laborious efforts for the Chairman of Planning Committee of the programme who is the Commissioner for Higher Education, Delta State, Professor Nyerhovwo Tonukari, and others to put together the ceremony and today, it is successful. He thanked the invitees to have graced the occasion and wish them safe journey home.

The programme which its first lesson was read by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State who was represented by Dr. Festus Okubor, and its nine lesson read by Professor Mrs Enajite Ojaruega, University Orator, Delta State University Abraka, was graced by former Delta State Governor, Chief James Ibori, the Chairman of the occasion who was represented by Chief Champion Kpateghe, Prof. Samuel Asagba, VC, DELSU, Snr Evangelist Johnbull Ejovi, Chief Dr. Enahoro Eta, Chief Mrs. Enne Ewa, Chief Moses Orogun and Traditional Rulers among who is HM, Pere Stanley Perediegha Luke, Kalanama VII, JP, Pere of Aku, the President General Urhobo Progress Union, Barr. Ese Gam, among others, was unique its respect as participants were thrilled by the event of the day.
