The Executive Chairman of Oshimili Local Government Area, Delta State Hon Innocent Esewezie has embarked on Projects monitoring in the area. The visit which took place on Friday saw the chairman it to Achala, illah, Ugbolu with the aim to ascetain the level projects completion and the work done general in these areas and further plan the next stage of his development agenda for his people.
Some of the specific places visited include Ugbolu Ultramodern Market which contains a modern Motor Park, Abattoir, 250 open shops, 150 locked up shops, storm water drainage for flood control with the shops already opened for the public to purchase.
Other places visited include Illah Modern Market with over 100 shops, Health Centres in Otu-Illah and Achala-Ibuzo were also visited as more progress was recorded in the administration’s attempt to bring governance closer to the people.
While at Ugbolu, the Council Chairman lamented the slow pace of some parts of the market which was occasioned by the Naira scarcity which made it virtually impossible to finish the project as scheduled.
He further pointed out that despite the slight delay, the work must be completed as soon as possible. He also encouraged the public to be supportive of the contractor who he charged to double the pace of work to enable a timely completion.
On his arrival at Illah Market, the market women welcomed him with songs of joy. They pointed to the already completed market as proof that he has delivered part of the promises he made to the people during electioneering campaign.
In a similar fashion, the people of Achala-Ibuzo hailed the Council Boss for putting in motion machinery that will facilitate the transformation of the health centre.
Accompaning the Council Chairman in the visit were the Leader of the House, Hon. Adim Henry Ofuase, the Secretary to the Local Government, Comrade Austin Eloka Ajufo, the Head of Personnel Management, Mrs. Ofunne Stella Jones, Councillors, Political Appointees, Staff, Peace Ambassadors among others.
