The Nigeria Union of Journalists, Warri Correspondents’ Chapel has congratulated the newly elected Executive, Nigeria Union Journalists, State Council headed by its Chairman, Comrade Churchill Oyowe.
In a press statement signed by Chairman, Okies Okpomor and the Secretary, Igafe Edeki said the victory of the Chairman and his team is a well deserved one saying, it is coming at the time the Union in the state is eager for a positive change and hoped the Union would achieve this in no distant time with the new executive.
Part of the statement reads:” The NUJ, Warri Correspondents Chapel heartily rejoice with Comrade Churchill Oyowe and other members of the newly elected State Executive Council (SEC). No doubt, your victory, coming at this crucial moment that our once enviable Union in the state is yearning for a positive change would definitely reposition it in accordance with our aspiration”.
According to the statement, members of the Union have confidence on the state Chairman and his executive members to reposition the body on a better pedestal.
The statement added that now that the election has come and gone, it is time to hit the ground running with his well articulated programmes in the overall interest of all members.
The body therefore prayed for Almighty God to grant new executive the strength and wisdom to discharge their duties effectively, just as the body assured them of maximum cooperation and support for them to succeed in their new assignment.
