Delta State Governor ,Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori said his administration is committed to infrastructural development and improved healthcare delivery in the state. Gov. Oborevwori stated this today, Wednesday, at the commissioning of multiple intra-city roads in Warri, in Warri South Local Government Area and the state-of-the-art medical equipment in Central Hospital, Warri.
According to him, his administration is determined to ensure that the hospitals and health centres are fully equipped to deliver affordable and quality care services. Governor Oborevwori who stressed the importance of health to human existence said, his government would continue to invest in every area necessary in the state of which, health forms a part.
While Governor Oborevwori sued for continued peace in the state and vigilance in the various communities, he warned that any threat to public peace or illegal occupation of land by anybody would not be tolerated adding, any person caught would face the wrath of the law.
His words:” Our youths must shun any act of land grabbing. We passed a law against this in 2018 to create an enabling environment for investment and development. Anybody who encroaches will bear the consequences alone”
Governor Oborevwori promised more projects across the state in the coming months just as he lauded the Chairman of Warri South LGA, Hon. Agbateyiniro Weyinmi Isaac, for his effective management of local affairs and for maintaining stability despite political tensions in the area. On the location of the proposed new stadium in Warri, Governor Oborevwori assured Deltans that the government is committed to its realization .
According to him, the government intends to build a 13,000-seat stadium, but land is a challenge in the core Warri area adding that, citing the project outside the town defeats the purpose for which it is meant. He however said, the contract has been awarded and it would be completed by the end of next year. The highlight of the ceremony was official declaration of road and medical projects to the glory of God by Governor Oborevwori amidst cheers from the host communities.
