Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has congratulated the Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom, His Majesty Albert Akpomudje, SAN, FCIArb, Eyavwie-Alaka I, over his appointment as the 54th Chairman of the Nigerian Body of Benchers. In a press statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Oborevwori, Sir Festus Ahon, the Governor expressed pride the Royal Father’s appointment describing it as thing of honour for Delta State and its people.
According to him, Deltans are happy by the recognition accorded the revered traditional ruler and legal luminary, and wished him a successful and impactful tenure. Governor said:“On behalf of my family, the government and the good people of Delta State, I heartily congratulate the Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom, His Majesty Albert Akpomudje, SAN, FCIArb, Eyavwie-Alaka I, on his emergence as the 54th Chairman of the Nigerian Body of Benchers”.
Governor Oborevwori commended the Monarch’s distinguished career in the legal profession and expressed confidence that his wealth of experience would further strengthen the integrity and standards of the legal system in the country. His Majesty, Albert Akpomudje, succeeded former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwoola, as Chairman of the Body of Benchers.
The Body of Benchers, established under the Legal Practitioners Act, is the apex regulatory institution for the legal profession in Nigeria Akpomudje, a seasoned lawyer and the 14th Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom, was crowned on November 15, 2025. His emergence as Chairman of the prestigious body has been widely regarded as a testament to his professional excellence and leadership capacity.
