The Delta Central Senatorial candidate for the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) Hon. Chief Solomon Edojah has promised to give meaningful infrastructural development and better welfare packages for the people of Delta Central if voted to the Senate in the 2023 election.
Hon. Edojah gave this assurance during his campaign visit to both Otor-Ogor and Evwreni kingdoms in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State. Chief Edojah said that Urhobo nation has not been favoured due to poor representation and various political manipulations over the years, stressing that most of these mistakes could be corrected and make progress with meaningful representation.
He stated that Urhobo people should be represented by resourceful and competent leaders at the state and central government, adding that Urhobo has not been lucky to be represented by her best.
According to him “Those who represent us at Abuja are not truly representing the people. I have been there before I will be a pacesetter at the Senate. Urhobo is at its lowest ebb. There is a conspiracy against Urhobo people. The conspiracy of the minority is dangerous to the majority. I have a business thriving before I went into politics. I am committed to the development of Urhobo land, hence I offered myself to serve my people.”
The former House of Representatives member stated that it is our collective duty to make Nigeria a better place and it starts from electing good leaders, urging Nigerians not to sell their votes by collecting money to vote in bad leaders, pointing out that only good people can bring good society.
“I will introduce town hall meeting because it is essential to the government. Our government will listen to the views of the people. I will make sure the people decide what they want. It is what they want, that will be implemented for the good of the people. There will be development programme for the development of Delta Central. I know the pains ad needs of Urhobo people and I will address them.”
He promised he won’t disappoint Delta Central people, stressing that he needs their votes to get victory to the Senate in this 2023 election.
Chief Edojah said it is not wrong for government to own companies or industries where people can work, stressing that, the privatization of government companies has not helped the country as many people were made jobless, therefore no President or government should sell the remaining government’s assets or companies.
The Ovie of Otor-Ogor Kingdom, HRM. Onajite Kenneth, Ajara III, prayed for Hon. Solomon Edojah and his team and wished him (Edojah) victory, adding, that God will fulfill his heart’s desire.
The Monarch of Evwreni Kingdom, HRM. Oghenekevwe Owin Eruvwedede III (JP),the Ovie of Evwreni Kingdom said, his duty is to pray for people for good governance.
He told Edojah that his desire to represent Delta Central at the Senate remains very important to Urhobo people, but as grass root politician, he should intensify more efforts to get electoral victory.
