By Samuel Ogude
It was at atmosphere of jubilation as Christ The Living Church Ministry Incorporated celebrated mother’s day in grandstyle. The programme which took place today, Sunday, at the Church’s premises, 10, Ogbe Street, off Deco Road, Warri , Delta State, was described as unique in its respect. Speaking at the occasion, the Lead Pastor of the church, Rev. Osaro Osagie said mothers play important roles in the society as they are home makers. His words:” Actually, today is a wonderful day, women (mothers) are gift and are worthy of celebrating. More emphasis on the roles women play in the society- the church and at home. We are indeed grateful, we are indebted to them.”
Rev. Osagie said while mothers(women) are celebrated, in case any of them exhibits attributes not worthy of emulation at home, they should turn up a new leaf and charged them to be loving, caring and refrain from anything capable of bringing their name to disrepute. His words: “As we celebrate them today, my advice for women who are stubborn at home, let today mark the beginning of new dawn for them. Let them refrain and align themselves with what is good, that is, only way better things can come to them.”
On his part, men leader of the church, Mr Emeka Osoronye, said mothers are worthy of celebration. According to him, mothers have lot of responsibilities at home as without them, the family is not complete adding, they are the managers, directors and home builders. Mr. Osoronye said, the church has to put the event together to honour the women for all they do at home.
His words:” It is awesome and remarkable to celebrate these souls called “women”. Women have a lot of responsibilities, without them, the home is incomplete. They keep the home, build the home, they are the Managers, Directors and everything- they need to be appreciated.” According to him, while women are being celebrated, they should always keep on with duties of taking care of the family the children form a part. He said, there are much demands placed on the men and so, the women should complement men’s efforts when the needs arise.

His words:”It is not just giving birth to children, it is the taking up of responsibilities and being help-mates to the men. There are situations where the men are unable to meet up with the needs and demands of home, the wife and mother should be able to take up responsibility to assist the men to make peace and harmony at home.”
Earlier, the women’s leader of the Church, Mrs Mercy Onakpoya said mothers are worthy of celebrating as they are builders of home. According to her, while mothers are being celebrated, they should not be carried away by the praises but be more alive to their responsibilities of being of home builders and makers.
Her words: “Today’s mother’s day is worth celebrating, mothers are builders of the home. I want every woman (mother) to be up and doing. You who assume the role of a mother, you have to bring up your children in the admonition and fear of the God...” Dr. Mrs. Onakpoya said no matter how stubborn a child may be, he or she must hear the voice of the mother and adhere to the mother’s instructions hence, according to her, mother is useful at home. She therefore enjoined the church and indeed the society to always celebrate mothers for them to do more for the good of the society.
The programme which coincided with the 73rd birthday celebration of Pastor Mrs. Felicia Omoboye of Christ The Living Church climaxed with her cutting of the anniversary cake with her family and the church, dances to the glory of God and prayers by the Lead Pastor to mothers, Pastor Mrs. Felicia Omoboye and indeed, the entire church to witness another mother’s day.
