Barr. Jay Ogor, 2027 Delta South Senatorial Districts Hopeful

As 2027 general elections draw near, Barr. Jay Ogor has expressed interest to run for the Delta South Senatorial District. Ogor who is a younger brother to RT. Hon. Leonard Okuweh Ogor, former member of the House of Representatives made this known recently when he paid a courtesy visit to Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Warri Correspondents’ Chapel Secretariat, 3 Eburu Street,in Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State.
According to him, if he given the mandate come 2027 election, he would unite the constituency which he said is grossly divided. His words: “One of the major things that bother me mostly about Delta South Senatorial District is lack of unity. We cannot develop without unity.”
Barr. Ogor said if voted into power to represent the good people of Delta South District, he would identify some of the challenges in the district and attend to them. His words:” … working with the NUJ and address some of these challenges. Unity brings prosperity. Unity brings development. Without unity, there can’t be infrastructure…” “In my first 30days or 60 days in office, I will ensure I hold town hall meetings with the Ijaws, Itsekiris and Isokos to understand the challenges that we have in Delta South and across the Niger Delta.”
According to him, there is the challenges of employment in Niger Delta which has been one of reasons for Youths’ restiveness in the region. He however thanked God that today, progress has been made in the area, yet, he is of the opinion that the people have been shortchanged by the International Oil Companies in the area. “If you look at the PIA today, the IOCs have taken advantage of it and the communities have been totally under-developed. As l lawyer, I know how to correct it and I intend correcting it by working with Journalists”
The 2027 Delta South Senatorial District hopeful said the character of those coming to express interest for the same position should be looked critically to see if they possess good character as aspirant with worthless one (character) should not be voted for as they cannot do the needful if elected.
