The Chief Executive Officer and Medical Director, Arhoano and Maternity Home, Agbarho in Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State, Evangelist (Mrs.) Dinah Okpos said Nigerians will not be overwhelmed by the general economic meltdown which has led to low standard of living if only they believe in Jesus Christ who is the light of the world and the saviour of mankind. Evangelist (Mrs.) Okpos gave this assurance on Wednesday as the organization held its yearly praise and worship and carol in its premises. She said despite the rising cost of living and fallen standard of living coupled with insecurity in the country, Nigerians can overcome this ugly situation if only they can embrace Jesus Christ, the reason for the season. She said the Lord Jesus Christ is the light of the world adding, that whoever moves with light cannot be in darkness.
She said:”Jesus Christ is the light of the world and if you believe in him, no matter the harsh economic condition of the country, you will survive”. Evangelist (Mrs.) Okpos said, what is happening to Nigerians now is not new adding, it happened to the Israelites in those days saying, when God stepped into their situation, they were delivered of starvation, tribulations and sufferings adding , so shall be the case of Nigerians. Evangelist (Mrs) Okpos who quoted many books of the Holy Bible including the book of Isaiah 51:10 to buttress her message, charged Nigerians not to worry but have absolute trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as she sees a new Nigeria come 2023 where insecurity, poverty and all manners of social vices plaguing Nigeria will be a thing of the past.
Evangelist (Mrs) Okpos said the importance of light cannot be emphasized saying, a time in history of mankind, man was separated from God due to sinful life style adding, but by the mercy of God upon him, He sent Jesus Christ to redeem man from darkness. She added that, it is the birth of Jesus Christ that brought light, redeemed man from sin and its consequences. She therefore charged Nigerians to anchor on God Almighty and His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ the light of the world. She said:”Anyone who accepts light and walk in it will not live a wasted life”.
Earlier In his sermon on the theme of the event:” Jesus Is the Light of the World”, Pastor Victor Jite said whoever follows Jesus Christ, follows light and cannot be in darkness adding, Jesus Christ is the light of the world. He said God Almighty created man but fell apart because of sin adding it is Jesus Christ that died for the sin of man. He said:” Outside Jesus Christ, we live in darkness, so, it is good everybody embraces Him who is the light”. The Cleric quoted many portions of the Holy Bible including John 8:12, among others to drive home his message.
The programme which was attended by prominent men of God among who are Archbishop Wilfred Sodje, Bishops Ekefe, Sunny Emesahwo, Pastors Ogheneovo Okotie, Blessing Agbomuche ,Mr. Gabriel Erikume, among others climaxed with the reading of lessons and carols, praises, dances and prayers to the glory of God.
