Former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has expressed confidence on the financial management and prudence of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori when he was the Speaker Delta State House of Assembly from 2018 to 2023. Dr. Jonathan made this remark on Tuesday during commissioning of the State High Court Building in Asaba on Tuesday.
According Dr Jonathan who quoted one of masters of the ceremony, said Governor Oborevwori was able save the sum of 500 million naira when he was the Speaker of the State House of Assembly and therefore urged him(Governor) to keep the flag flying in this regard.
Dr Jonathan who joy was written over his face expressed gratitude to Governor Oborevwori and the entire people of Delta State for taking care of him each time he visits the state. He expressed happiness to be invited to commission the landmark project which was started in 1991 by the previous administration and thanked Governor Oborevwori for the completing the project within one year. Recall that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori was the longest serving Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly in the history of the state as he served from 2018 to 2023- six years.
