The People’s Democratic Party(PDP) stalwart in the state, Comrade Francis Obule has cautioned the People’s Democratic Party’s faithful and other stakeholders not to play politics of working against themselves as the case of the former President of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan in 2015 which led to his defeat rather, they should rally round the Delta State PDP’s Governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori to enable him clinch victory, come 2023 general elections as a victory for him is a victory for all.
Comrade Obule stated this in a chat with news men at Okuovu 1 in Ozue District of Sapele Local Government Area of the state during the visit of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and his campaign team to Ward II in Okuovu 1 on ward to ward campaign. Comrade Obule said this is not the first time they(PDP’s faithful) are showcasing a candidate on the platform of PDP adding, the candidates that have been contesting under the platform have always been delivered and emerged victorious saying, this political dispensation should not be an exception.
He said:” We must guide against losing Delta State as a PDP state and the way to achieve this is to work as a team to deliver the party come 2023 general elections”.
Comrade Obule said, Hon. Oborevwori has leadership quality to pilot the affairs of the state having served in different capacities in the state since 1999, which according to him, include being the first National Treasurer of the Association of Speakers in Nigeria, Deputy Vice Chairman of Speakers’ Forum, adding, today, he has performed well as the Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly saying, he will do well if voted for come 2023 general elections.
He said:” Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has performed well as the Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA) and served at various political positions since 1999,he has the knowledge and capacity to pilot the affairs of Delta State if he becomes Governor in 2023”.
Comrade Obule who was among those to receive Hon. Oborevwori in Okuovu 1 in Ozue as he did to the late Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, Orhoro 1 when he was crowned in 1970s, appealed to old Ethiope Local Government Areas which has been split into : Ethiope East, Ethiope West, Udu, Uvwie, Okpe and Sapele to vote for Hon. Oborevwori to emerge victorious.
