A young man who identified himself as Ayiri Onomise who specializes in cable theft has been arrested while stealing transformer cable which feeds Nigeria Union of Journalists, Warri Correspondents’ Chapel at Igbiaye Street at First Marine Gate Warri in Warri South Local Government Area.
The suspect who was arrested through the combined efforts of the Nigeria Navy and Vigilante in the area in early hours of today said, on interrogation, that he was sent by yet identified Ibo man. According to him, he lives in Iyara in Warri South Local Government Area and he is an Itsekiri by tribe adding, it was his first outing in such an operation. He said, he was ready to take the law enforcement agents to locate the person who sent him for the business.
This is happening barely after two weeks when cable of Nigeria Union Journalists’ plant was vandalized.
