Tantita Security Service Nigeria Limited (TSSNL), Moni Pulo among other security organizations have received awards recently for their outstanding performances as security firms in the country in recent times. Specifically, Tantita has outstanding achievement in curbing oil theft and pipeline vandalism in the Niger Delta region. The awardees were said to be of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurunn of the year, 2023 organized by the African Child Foundation.
The programme which took place in University’s campus in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, also saw the presentation of scholarship awards to six students of the university.
In his address, the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission’s Chief, Engr. Gbenga Komolafe expressed delight for the award, saying, it will spur him to serve the nation better in this regard. He promised to assist the university in sustaining its world-class standard saying, the Commission will always grant opportunities to further sharpen and develop students’ capabilities.
He said:” The awards will spur me to serve the nation better and we will do everything so that the standard for which the university is known for will be sustained. You will continue to enjoy our support.”
Earlier in his welcome address, Vice Chancellor of FUPRE, Engr. Prof. Rim-Rukeh Akpofure urged stakeholders in the oil and gas industry to take on projects within the school that will be known by the name of their organizations
On his part, the Managing Director of Tantita, Engr. Chief Kestin Ebimorbowei Pondi, said the recognition would not have been possible without a committed workforce saying Tantita remained one stop centre for pipelines and all other security services in Nigeria.
He said:” Without our team who traverse the creeks of the Niger Delta, the job of securing our pipelines would not have been possible.”Tantita remains your one stop centre for pipelines and all other security services in Nigeria, our fatherland”.
The Managing Director of Tantita, Engr. Chief Kestin Ebimorbowei Pondi was accompanied by Tantita’s Executive Director, Technical and Operations and some Chiefs from the Gbaramatu Traditional Council.
Not left out in his comment after receiving the award, the Chairman of Moni Pulo Limited, Dr. Mrs. Seinye Lulu-Briggs said it was gratifying that the firm’s work is noticed as an innovative player in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
Mrs. Lulu-Briggs who was represented by Chief Clifford Daerego, said , the company was of the one of the first indigenous companies to comply with the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) in April.
The programme which was well attended by scores of students was thrilled with comedy put together by Mc Douglas and Emmarolo among others.
