One suspected car snatcher identified as Idowu James ‘m’ 28 years residing at No. 25 Kareem Oyeladi Street Mangoro Agege Lagos State has been arrested by the police. In press statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, DSP Bright Edafe said, the suspect was arrested by Dragon Patrol teams 15/13 while on stop and search duty along Warri – Sapele Road by Ibada Elume Sapele Local Government, Delta State. The driver of the car-lexus Rx330 SUV with Reg no KWC 81 HH, Chassis no JTIHF 31U400010242 was in the car alone, but quickly jumped out of the vehicle and fled into the nearly bush in an attempt to escape. He was however arrested by the team when he was given a hot chase. Part of statement reads: “On the 6/11/2022 at about 2100hrs, Dragon Patrol teams 15/13 while on stop- and- search duty along Warri Sapele Road, by Ibada-Elume in Sapele LGA intercepted one lexus RX330 SU with reg. no kwe 81HH, Chassis no.JTIHF 31U400010242 for a search…”
The statement said, when the vehicle was searched, documents bearing the name of one Victor Olori were recovered adding, on putting a call across to the number found in the documents, one man (name withheld) answered and informed the police that the vehicle was snatched at gun point from his son(name withheld) on the 4th November, 2022 at 1900hrs around Ebrumede area during which, the son was shot and now receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital. The statement added that the suspect is now in police custody helping in the investigation of the incident.
