New Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun in Uvwie Local Government Area Delta State has emerged. He is Prof. Ezekiel Ogheneyerhovwo Agbalagba. Prof. Agbalagba takes over from Engr. Prof. Akpofure Rim-Rukeh who leaves office any moment from now as his tenure winds up.
Addressing newsmen today, Friday, the Pro- Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun, Engr. Issa Bello Gachi said, a total of 39 people were shortlisted for interview and presented to Governing Council of the institution for consideration and approval adding that, after a careful deliberation, Prof. Ezekiel Ogheneyerhovwo Agbalagba emerged as the Vice Chancellor of the University.
His words: Following a thorough evaluation process, 39 people were shortlisted for interview and presented to the Governing Council for consideration and approval, after a careful deliberation, Prof E. O Agbalagba emerged the VC and the Council formally approved his appointment.”
According to him, Prof. Agbalagba is an experienced academic as he has distinctive leadership quality hence he is an ideal person for this position.
In an interview on how he feels as his tenure comes to an end and subsequently handing over to the new Vice Chancellor, the outgoing Vice Chancellor of the institution, Engr. Prof. Akpofure Rim-Rukeh said, he is very happy. According to him, the handover process is a smooth one as the Governing Council followed the due process of the selection and his tenure has ” given birth to a new baby”
