Report reaching Bailout Magazine says the Delta State Police Command said it is not the Police that was responsible for the shooting of Dr. Adja Harrison as reported in many TV stations and online platforms. In a press statement signed by the Delta State Police Command’s spokesman, DSP Bright Edafe said Dr. Adja Harrison said on the 24th January 2023, reported that he had an encounter with a VIP convoy in Agbor ,wherein one of the security personnel shot at his vehicle saying, the VIP is unknown as well as the identity of the security man that shot. The statement added that the registration number given by the Doctor showed that it was a privately registered vehicle and not a Police vehicle.
The statement added that the Command is still investigating to know the identity of the security personnel who carried out the act adding, it would be wrong to assume that the shooting was done by the Police. The statement said, the Command has written to the appropriate authority to enable them know the details of the vehicle and ascertain the identity of the owner of the vehicle to fish out the perpetrators of the crime.

The statement added that the Police called for calm that if the Police have finished their investigation, the public will be made to know. Based on the foregoing, the Commissioner of Police advised journalists to be honest and factual with their reportage in order not to mislead the public.
Part of the statement reads:”…The registration number provided by the doctor revealed that it is a privately registered vehicle and not a Police vehicle. While the command is still investigating to ascertain the identity of the security personnel that carried out the act, it will be wrong to assume that the shooting was done by the police. However, the Command has written to the appropriate authority to furnish us with the details of the vehicle to ascertain the identity of the owner of the vehicle to enable us to fish out the perpetrators of this act. Consequently, the command sues for calm as upon completion of the investigation, the public will be informed”.
