Two suspected cultists/armed robbers namely: Telvin Richmond who is 27 years old and Frank Obiorah, 26, both males have been net by Nigeria Police Force. The suspects who were said to be living in Opete by Otokutu were picked up by Police Eagle-Net Surveillance Team stationed at Ughelli North LGA as they embarked on stop and search along Otokutu Bridge, Warri, according to Delta State Police image maker, SP Bright Edafe.
The suspects were picked up in a black Toyota Corolla car with registration number RSH 90 RC after a thorough search where a locally made cut-to-size gun, two (2) yellow hand-bands inscribed with NBM “neo black movement”, one battle axe and a wooden pistol, found to be concealed in the compartment of the vehicle door. It was learnt that, from investigations, the suspects are members of cult group known as Aiye.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects are members of the Aiye confraternity, and he bought the gun in the year 2024 for the sum of eighty-seven thousand naira from another suspect presently at large“, says SP Edafe. The suspects are in police custody while investigations are ongoing.
In a related development, a 47- year- old native doctor namely Okonji Chimeze who lives in Umuehe Quarter, Ibusa, has been net by the Police. According to Delta State Police image maker, SP Bright Edafe, his arrest was sequel to investigation by the operatives of the Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cybercrime Squad on the suspect on 14th June 2025 and this led to suspect’s residence at Ibusa to be subjected to a thorough search. In the process, two automatic pump-action guns and one cutlass were recovered, hidden inside the ceiling of the suspect’s room.
“A search Warrant was executed in the premises of the suspect during which two automatic pump-action guns and one cutlass were recovered hidden inside the ceiling of the suspect’s room”, says SP Edafe. The suspect and the exhibit are Police’ custody while investigations are ongoing.
