The Nigeria Police Command,Delta State has arrested a- 46- year – old man identified as Innocent Ezeukwu who is said to be a Proprietor of Great Leaders International School Ime-Obi, Agbor, Delta State for allegedly defiling a- 4- year -old girl. The incident which was said to have happened recently sent worry to the residents of the area.
According to the report, on 5th October 2023 at about 1700hrs, one Mrs. Joy Chukwudi reported that while she was bathing her 4-year-old daughter, she discovered a blood stain in the private part of her daughter saying that upon investigations, the daughter said ,it was her uncle who used school scissors to cut her private part.
According to the report, on receiving the complaint, the Area Commander Agbor ,swung into action to investigate the incident and proceeded to the scene of the alleged crime which led to suspect’s arrest. It was gathered that the Police carried out their investigation and medical report affirmed that there was “no hymen visualized” in the victim’s private part.
Confirming the report, Delta State Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Edafe Bright , FCIA, FIPMD said the suspect Innocent Ezeukwu who is the owner of the school and the only male teacher in the school has been arrested and taken into custody saying that investigations based on the medical report showed that Innocent Ezeukwu is the person who allegedly defiled her .
He said although, the Area Command, Agbor has concluded their investigation and charged the case to court, the Commissioner of Police Delta State CP Wale Abass has directed the case be withdrawn from the court and immediately transferred to the State Criminal and Investigation Department (SCID) for further meticulously executed investigation saying that, the Commissioner of Police has assured members of the public and the victim’s family that justice will be done and therefore appealed to the public to remain calm while the Police carry out their investigations.
He said:”Though the Area Command Agbor had concluded their investigation and charged the case to court, the Commissioner of Police Delta State CP Wale Abass directed the case be withdrawn from the court and immediately transferred to the State Criminal and Investigation Department (SCID) for further meticulously executed investigation. The CP assures members of the public and the victim’s family that justice will be served; he further appeals that the public remains calm while the investigation is ongoing”.
