
Array of the suspected snatched cars recovered from the suspects

Delta State Command of Nigeria Police force has burst car snatching syndicate, arresting the car snatcher just as it has recovered twelve suspected stolen vehicles.
In a press statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command Bright Edafe said on 11th April, 2024, at about 1632 hours, information was received from a man(name withheld) of Abuja Road DSC Township Uruwhorun that his Toyota Corolla Saloon Car was stolen from where it was parked in Oruwhorun and that, the said car was sighted along Eku/Warri Road by Oha Junction in Okpe Local Government Area.
The statement said consequence upon a tip off, the DPO in Orerokpe, CSP Paul Oboware swung into action by mobilizing patrol teams together with Oha Community vigilante members and they gave suspects a hot chase to Army Check point at Orerokpe Junction and double crossed the vehicle. Their efforts yielded good results as they were able to arrest one Dickson Omage “m” age 47 years of Post Office Road Effurun Warri and the vehicle was recovered just as the master key which the suspects used to carry out their nefarious activities was also recovered. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect and his gang are notorious for stealing cars from where they are parked both in the daytime and at night.
The statement said further investigation and interrogation of the suspect led to the arrest of two other suspects: Samson Ekwunwa ‘m’ age 40 years and Kanebi Michael ‘m’ age 39 years in Benin City on 19th April 2024. The two suspects specialize in removing old chassis numbers and engine numbers and replacing them with new ones before putting the vehicles for sale and equally demobilizing vehicles with car trackers.

Investigation is still an ongoing effort to arrest other fleeing members of the gang is on top gear.
