Four murder suspects have been arrested by the Police in Delta Community. Their arrest was sequel to their murder of Uguru Dominic “m” aged 29 years over the disagreement over twenty thousand naira. The suspects are Ogadinma Francis A.KA. “Gentle” aged 27 years, Goodness Abaje “m” aged 30 years, Obunwa Kasim “m” aged 25 years and Bright Osifo “m” aged 23 years. In a press statement signed by Police Public Relationship Officer, Delta State Command, Asaba, DSP Bright Edafe said, Sapele Division received a distress call from a caller (name withheld) that on the 16th November 2022, at about 0900 hours that he discovered that his landlord named Ugu Dominic “m” aged 29 years and his male friend whose name and address were not known, were found dead in the bathroom and they suspected to have been murder by unknown persons adding, that the suspect made away with the victim’s Toyota Corolla car with Reg no. ABJ 271 (white colour).
The statement added, the Divisional Police Officer detailed detectives to uncover the mystery over the death which led to the arrest of the suspect: Ogadinma Francis which further led to the arrest of others in the crime.
Part of the statement reads: The DPO detailed detectives to unravel the mystery behind the deaths, consequently, the team swung into action ,embarked on an intelligence led investigation which led to the arrest of one Ogadinma Francis A.KA Gentle aged 27 years”..
The statement added that the Police recovered the deceased’s vehicle from the suspect. It stated that, the suspect has confessed of doing a filling job for the deceased adding, after the work, the deceased was said to have refused to pay the agreed amount to the suspect and he planned with his friends to kill the victims. The statement added that, the suspect did not actually want to kill the victims but to rob them and this made them tie the victim up about 4.30 am and forced him to transfer the sum of N36,000 to one of suspect’s account.
The statement added, they however killed the victims because they (victims) recognized them, because of the fear that the victims would report to the police and they would be arrested. According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police, Delta State, CP Ari Muhammed Ali FCIA, PSC+ has asked that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
Part of the statement reads:” They further stated that they decided to kill both of them because they felt the victims recognized them and will report them to the Police..”
