The Executive Assistant to the Executive Governor of Delta State on Community Development,Hon. Emakpor Odogu has sought Nigeria Police’ partnership to enhance peace and security in communities’ development across the state. Hon. Odogu disclosed this when he paid an advocacy visit to the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda at Asaba, the state capital.
In his address,Hon. Odogu said the visit was aimed at familiarizing with the Police Commissioner towards collaborating with the Delta State Police Command to enhance peace and security in communities in Delta State. According to Odogu, peace and security is a panacea for effective community’s development which is in line with the Enhanced Peace and Security of the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda.
His words:”Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s creation of Community Development Department is basically to liaise with the various communities through their Presidents-Generals with the aim to know their needs, access and get Government’s attention for meaningful development.
“The Governor wants us to ensure peace and security to foster communities’ development,hence this visit to the Commissioner of Police to synergize with the Nigeria Police Force” Emakpor Odogu stated.
With this visit, no doubt, the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Community Development has further assured Governor Sheriff Oborevwori that he would do everything humanly possible to encourage and sustain peace in Delta State to enhance meaningful development in communities.
