It was an atmosphere of jubilation as Students Union Government (SUG) of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun, Delta State in collaboration with KAMP was able to provide 24 hours steady water supply to Ugbomoro Girls Hostel. In press statement signed by the President of SUG FUPRE, Comrade Edemakiota Etiosa Oghenemaro on behalf of the body and made available to newsmen, said, the student body had to tackle this challenge in order to provide water which has been a problem for the students in the Hostel as, before now, among other things, the students had no water to bathe and cook.
Part of the statement reads:”The administration of President Edemakiota Etiosa Oghenemaro has strikingly done it again with a massive intervention at the most needful moment by meeting up the cry of the students community, especially in Ugbomoro Girls Hostel, which once had a bitter experience of female students not being able to have their regular bath to meet up with day-to-day bookish activities”. According to the statement, before now, water supply was more like a scarce commodity in the hostel but by the grace of God, it has been provided with ease as the taps are now running.
Part of the statement reads: “When I assumed office as the 13th SUG PRESIDENT, the girls go as far of getting water from host Community but with the special intervention of my team alongside Dr Kolade, the founder of KAMP, water has been provided”. The statement further said, the President and his Executive members had to embark on the project which seemed impossible at the beginning to fulfill his promises to the student community.
Part of the statement reads:” l have always believed in pragmatic work rather than a kakistocratic style of leadership. To God be the glory, all my campaign promises have been successfully accomplished in a utilitarian and egalitarian perspective”. Comrade Oghenemaro and his Executive members promised to always keep their electioneering campaign promises by putting smiles on the faces of the students. Part of the statement reads:” Promises are meant to be kept and we made them possible. My administration is focused on finding long lasting solution to problems facing the student communities. We will always put the Welfare of the student FIRST”.
