The 2nd edition of the Inter-Club Competition (5-A-Side) organised by Determined Sports House officially kicked off yesterday at the Campus 3 Field, Abraka, treating football fans to two competitive opening matches. The first match of the tournament saw Team Young lads FC take on Team Elite Fc in a tightly contested encounter that ended in a goalless draw (0–0), as both sides showed strong defensive organisation and tactical discipline.
Action continued in the second match of the day, where Team New Era fc faced Team Future Fc in an entertaining clash that produced three goals. Team Future Fc emerged victorious with a 1–2 win, recording the first victory of the tournament and igniting excitement among spectators.
Speaking during the opening ceremony, the host and organiser, Mr. Isaac Adjuya of Determined Sports House, said the competition goes beyond football. “This tournament is about bringing young people together through sport, encouraging footballer, discipline and peaceful coexistence within the community,” he stated.
The Inter-Club Competition features 8 teams competing for top honours, including a ₦100,000 cash prize for the winners and ₦40,000 for the runners-up, alongside medals and individual awards such as Most Valuable Player and Best Team Coordinator. The tournament continues in the coming days, with expectations of more thrilling matches as teams battle for supremacy and recognition.
