Delta State Governorship candidate on the platform of New Nigeria People Party(NNPP), Sir Engr.(Dr) Good-news Agbi has promised to develop the state in all ramifications if given the mandate as Governor of Delta State come 2023 general elections. Dr. Agbi stated this recently when he inaugurated the Party Campaign Council held at Toscana Hotel at Asaba, the state capital.
According to him, he would restore and reposition the state towards greatness where all Deltans would develop their potentials, live in peace, justice, unity and enjoy the dividends of democracy generally. He said:”lf l am given the mandate as the Governor of the state, I will restore and reposition the state towards greatness, all citizens would maximize their potentials and enjoy the dividends of democracy”.
Dr. Agbi said his campaign manifesto is anchored on four cardinal points which are health, education, security and infrastructure saying, these cover everything that the common man needs in life.
He said, the opposition parties know that it would not be business as usual as they(NNPP) are ready to challenge the status quo and take over the reign of government to better the lives of our people.
In his words:“We are here to challenge the status quo. We are in the election to challenge the All Progressive Congress(APC) and the People’s Democratic Party(PDP)”.
Sir (Dr). Agbi added that the opposition parties know, they(NNPP) are doing something great saying, they(Opposition parties) are already panicking with the current trends from them(NNPP) saying, they would not relent but continue to what they deem fit and take over Delta State from its present economic woes. Deliberating on each of the manifestos and taking health sector, he said, because of the importance of health, every new born baby ranging from six months to five years and their nursing mothers would be given free healthcare as well as the establishment of more cottage hospitals across the state.
He said:”In our campaign manifesto, we have four cardinal points: health, which is so important to the common man. In health, every new born baby from six months to five years and nursing mothers will be given free healthcare as well as the establishment of more cottage hospitals across the state”.
On education, Sir (Dr) Agbi said education would be made accessible for indigent the children so that they can equally compete with their counterparts favourably in other states in Nigeria.
He said: “We will improve on our educational system by standardizing our schools, institutions and encourage private institutions in the state as well.”
On Security, Sir (Dr) Agbi said, he would give serious attention to it(security) because of its sensitive nature and importance just as he said, he would improve on its (security) present state by ensuring that Delta State has a security outfit that will be upgraded from civilian to military standard in the state saying, he would advocate for state police to nib criminal activities on the bud.
Speaking further, he said he would also improve on infrastructural developments adding, that every money generated during his government would be judiciously used and accounted for.
Dr. Agbi therefore, encouraged party faithful to vigorously campaign for their people across the state, now that the inauguration has successfully taken place. He also enjoined members to allow other small political parties to join NNPP.
The Governorship candidate equally appealed to Deltans to vote for only integrity and accountability, instead of gangsters. His words: “I am appealing to Deltans that those who are not qualified should not be given room to govern Delta State.”
In his response, the State Secretary of the Party, Olorogun Ofomana Edward, who was made Director General of the State Campaign Council, expressed the readiness of the party to take over government in 2023.
He also tasked party members to go out and canvass supports for all candidates of the great party (NNPP), who are vying for elective positions across the state and at the federal level.
