
PDP Orogun Ward 1 members

Following the defection of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to the All Progressive Congress (APC), the members of PDP in Orogun Ward 1, said they remain in PDP just as they said they would work to ensure that the party(PDP) grows from strength to strength in the ward.
The group stated this during a meeting held to discuss the latest development in the party. Addressing the members of the party, the convener of the meeting who is currently the National leader of PDP in Orogun Ward 1, Dr. Simon A. Ohwo said, he has to call the meeting to reaffirm members’ commitment to the party- PDP saying, Orogun Ward I still remains in PDP. His words:”I called this meeting today for us to re-affirm our commitment in our great party PDP. Orogun Ward 1 stills remains in PDP, we are not going any where”.
According to him: “I am very excited seeing you people here today, irrespective of your tight schedule, you have all gathered here for the sake of PDP to move our party to the next level. Let me assure you, PDP remains and it will not die as they think, as far as l am concern, the party will continue to grow and it will be stronger”
On his part, Dr. Simon A. Ohwo who was also the convener of PDP in Ughelli North LGA, on the recent meeting of the party held on 1st May, also hinted that belonging to a political party is a matter of interest, as one cannot just wake up say everybody should be in one political party saying, everybody has his choice of a political party. His words:” Governor Sheriff Oborevwori who defected to APC has his reason for doing so just as we in the party have our reasons to say we are not leaving our dear party, PDP”
“When we heard that Governor Sheriff wants to decamp to APC, l personally do not belief, but at the end, he made his own choice, his choice cannot be ours, we remain in our party, it is PDP that produced Governor Sheriff today, so if, he decides to leave congratulation, but l can assure you, PDP remains the best political party were dividends of democracy could be guaranteed” Dr. Ohwo added.
Speaking further, Dr. Simon Ohwo therefore, used this medium to call on the members of the party at the ward level to be committed at all costs saying that, the National leaders of the party at the top are working tirelessly to ensure that PDP takes over the Government come 2027. He commended the efforts of the members who turned out for the meeting.
In the like manner, Chief William Alele, Mr. Onos Ogidi, Mr. Ovwigho Okuyede, Mr. Sunday Ohwo including others who also spoke during the meeting assured Dr. Simon Ohwo of their commitment towards PDP. According to them, ““We see no reason for us to leave PDP, the party we have worked for, for long, what is in APC as a political party which people are decamping to? They will retrace their steps and by then, we are not going to give them chance” Other members of the party present included : Chief William Alele, Deacon Sunday Awoh, Eguono E., Mr. Onos Ogidi Mr. Goodluck Iyede, Mr. Christopher, Omoru Ufuoma, Mrs. Matina Aganbi, Mrs. Igho F. Ugboyobi, Mrs. Oke Okuyefe Mr. Theophilus Ogu and other faithful members of PDP among others.
The high point of the meeting was constitution of a five -man committee to work temporarily for the growth of the party and they are: Mr. Good- luck Iyede (Ward co-ordinator), Mr. Albert Onoyinka (Ward Vice Co-ordinator), Mr. Eguono Ejiro (Ward Sec.) and Mr. Omonigho Okuyede (Ward youth leader).
