Student Union Government (SUG) of Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun Delta State has passed a vote of confidence on Senator Ede Dafinone, Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District in National Assembly for his developmental strides in Delta Central in particular and the state in general.
In press statement signed by the President of FUPRE SUG, Comrade Edemakiota Etiosa Oghenemaro, the body passed the vote of confidence on the distinguished Senator when the Executive members of the body paid him a courtesy visit at the National Assembly, Abuja. According to the statement, those in the delegation led by FUPRE President include: Comrade Gbegbaje Tega, Comrade Phillip, Comrade Odafe Solomon, Comrade Rex Okotete and Comrade Revelation during the visit,the Student Union body expressed profound appreciation to Senator Dafinone for his active involvement in the development of Delta State especially in the area of projects that have enhanced the wellbeing of the people.
According to the statement, some of the projects include but not limited to the donation of a bus to Delta Polytechnic, O Otefe Oghara, and youths’ empowerment scheme across Delta State, the ongoing massive 50-bed space Hostel project under construction in FUPRE among others. ‘The Student Union expressed profound appreciation to the Senator for his active involvement in the development of Delta State, highlighting notable projects…”The statement further said, the student Union body also acknowledged Senator Dafinone’s project-oriented leadership .Style as that has greatly inspired the 13th FUPRE SUG administration. The statement said, Senator Dafinone’s developmental approach has encouraged the Union to strengthen its focus on projects that directly solve basic students’ needs just as it said, it has made the University a better place and one of best ways to improve, have easy access and promote education among Nigeria students on campus.
In his response, Senator Dafinone described Comrade Oghenemaro as one of the best Student Union’s Presidents of FUPRE judging by his projects and patterns of leadership that have put smiles on the faces of the students on campus. Senator Dafinone who warmly received the Union Executives, emphasized the importance of effective Student Union Management as a platform for grooming responsible future leaders. According to the statement, he(Senator Dafinone) affirmed that the Union’s leadership under Comrade Oghenemaro is unique, impactful, and project-driven and therefore charged other Student Union leaders to emulate such leadership style that inspires growth and development of students on campus.
While assuring the delegation of his genuine care and continuous commitment to the welfare and progress of Delta State students, Senator Dafinone pledged his continuous support for the ongoing capital projects of the 13th FUPRE SUG Executive Council, which are now near completion. Part of the statement reads:” The student leaders also acknowledged that the Senator’s project-oriented leadership style has greatly inspired the 13th FUPRE SUG administration”. The climax of the courtesy visit was the presentation of a leadership award to Senator Dafinone in recognition of his exemplary leadership, youths’ empowerment, and contributions to educational development.
