Barr. Esimaje Awani a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Warri South, Delta State and his team of Grassroot Supporters have passed a vote of confidence on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his fantastic and excellent governance style in Nigeria, just as the group numbering over Six Thousand supporters Saturday, February 22 also passed vote of confidence on Governor of Delta State Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori during the Assembly of the group with the theme: Preparing for 2027 (TEA Organisation).
Speaking specifically on the President Tinubu’s achievements, Barr. Awani said, Tinubu’s achievements are too numerous to mention as he has removed bottle necks in the oil and gas industry to allow qualified Niger Deltans to own Oil Mining Licences, a thing, which earlier seemed impossible.
On the Governor Oborevwori, the People’s Democratic Party Chieftain commended him (Governor) for giving all parts of Delta State street lights, flyovers especially at the popular Enerhen Junction, PTI Junction, DSC Roundabout as well as allocating over Two Hundred Billion on capital projects in 2025 budget among other achievements.
Barr. Awani, a Warri- based businessman and politician noted that the TEA group is the strongest grassroot group in Warri South LGA. He however expressed dismay over the way his team and he himself are being treated and called on Governor Oborevwori to allow them ( his group and he himself) to have a feel of the dividends of democracy which the “Ukodo” slogan in his administration portrays as they have enough numbers of people who have their PVCs to cast their votes during election saying, they are not joking that, they have warned before but they thought, they were joking.
According to the Grassroot mobiliser, those that called themselves friends of the Governor are already living with just little challenge. While his group and he himself are in Governor’s support come 2027 to have massive turnout during the election, Barr. Awani however said, they(his group and he himself) can only be pushed to the wall if they are not carried along in empowerment, scholarship and others to encourage the people, noting that, they don’t fight what they put in place.
The Team Esimaje Awani convener gave the Warri South PDP two weeks ultimatum to reverse the purported suspension handed down or ready to face legal action, describing the said suspension as reckless and undemocratic behaviour and that, those that carried out such an action do not have the right to do as politics is a game of numbers and thumbprints.
He called on Governor Oborevwori not to listen to ‘expired panadols that can’t cure headache’. According to him, those that meet him (Governor) in Asaba do not have the supports of the grassroots.
