The Delta State Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori said the Delta State Government would continue to support Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFM) in whatever way it can to grow the body of Christ in the state. Governor Oborevwori stated this at the Inauguration of the new executive of the organization in Agbarho, Ughelli North Local Government Area on Thursday.
The Governor who represented by his Chief of Staff, Hon.Johnson Erijo said, the primary responsibility of the executive is to grow the body of Christ not be involved in politics. While thanking the outgoing executive led by Bishop Enekirerhi for leaving the position gloriously after eight years of administration, he charged the new executive to borrow leaf from them.
According to him, the leadership of the body of Christ should not be left in the hands of unbelievers. His words:” As leaders in the body of Christ, we should not leave leadership positions to unbelievers so that we guide the flock of Christ in the right direction so that the kingdom of God will expand in Delta. He assured the body of government and Governor Oborevwori’s support always. He charged them to be steadfast as they would succeed so long they have faith in Christ.
Earlier in his address after assuming the mantle of leadership of the body, the newly Inaugurated Chairman of Delta State chapter of PFN, Bishop Abos Willie said as a team, they are ready to run all inclusive administration with focus on more exploits. According to him, the Holy Bible being the compass, they would be guided by the National Constitution and state bylaws of the organization. He said among other things, the executive would focus on the values of the Holy Bible, unity of the churches, tenet of integrity and the purpose of the church.He said, he would not allow anything to divide the the organization nor drag the image of the organization to the mud.
His words:” We would not allow politics make us lose focus. All directorates of PFN would be engaged to work and deliver prompt reports to my office to make us know what is happening in their different directorates” According the PFM state boss, both the women and the youth wing of the organization would be engaged and supported just as he said, fellowship would be spread across the three senatorial districts. He said, the there be selflessness of all those who occupy the office with him.
He expressed gratitude to God Almighty to have put him in this position. He thanked specially Archbishop Goddowell Awomakpa, Apostle Zilly Aggrey, the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori and others too numerous to mention for their assistance that enable him be in this saddle of leadership.
Earlier in his words of exaltation, Apostle Zilly Aggrey told the members of the association to rally round the newly Inaugurated Chairman of the great body. According to him, the same support which they gave the outgoing Chairman ,Bishop Kingsley Enakirheri which enabled him to succeed should be extended to him. He also charged the newly Inaugurated Chairman to carry every body along while piloting the affairs of the organization. His words:” We should not be influenced by politics but be focused in our leadership”
Apostle Aggrey expressed gratitude for the Delta State Government and Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for his support which gave room for the successful completion of the building and appealed for continuous support to the ministry as it were.
On his part, the outgoing Chairman of PFN, Bishop Enekirerhi also thanked the great Christian body that allowed him to serve for the past years. The highlight of the programme was the giving awards of excellence to some members of the organization among whom is the General Overseer of God’s Will Mission, Archbishop Prof..Solomon Gbakara
