The Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Ari Muhammed Ali FCIA,psc+ has assured Nigeria Medical Association, Delta State Chapter and the family of Dr. Uyi Iluobe of thorough investigation into the murder of the decease to unearth the culprits. The Commissioner of Police stated this when he received members of Nigeria Medical Association, Delta State Chapter in his office on Tuesday over the murder of the decrease in his hospital, Olivet Clinic, Oghareki Oghara in Ethiope West Local government Area, Delta State on the 29th December, 2022..
In a press statement signed by the Delta State Police Command’s image maker, DSP Bright Edafe, the Commissioner of Police said the preliminary investigation has shown that a female patient whose name and address are not known came to the decease’ hospital at about 1940 hours, pretending to have abdominal pain. The statement added that while the Doctor was attending to her, the woman made a phone call to the suspects whom she deceptively invited to the hospital to pay her bill adding that, she was being treated by the doctor. The statement added that few minutes later, the hoodlums stormed the hospital in a Toyota vehicle, entered the doctor’s office and shot him (Doctor) twice in the chest which led to his death.
Part of the statement reads:”A female patient whose name and address are not known came to the hospital at about 1940 hours pretending to have abdominal pain. While the doctor was attending to her, she made a phone call to the suspects whom she deceptively invited to come and pay her bill and that she was being treated by the doctor. Moments later, the hoodlums stormed the hospital in a Toyota vehicle, entered the doctor’s office, and shot him twice in the chest, leading to his death”.
The statement added that the purported female patient fled alongside the suspects. The Commissioner of Police therefore extends his heartfelt condolence to the family of the decease and the members of Nigeria Medical Association and assured them that the case would be thoroughly investigated to ensure that justice is served.
Part of the statement reads: “The Commissioner of Police, while extending his heartfelt condolences to the family members of the deceased medical doctor and also members of the Nigerian Medical Association, reassured them that the case will be thoroughly investigated to ensure that the deserved justice is served”

The statement said, the rumours making the rounds that the family members of a supposedly dead patient were responsible for the murder of the doctor is false and should be disregarded as there is no record of any patient that died prior to the unfortunate incidence. The Command therefore seeks the assistance of the general public to enable the Police fish out the perpetrators of this heinous crime.
