
Dr. Paul Bebenimibo

Nigeria Maritime University (NMU), Okerenkoko in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State, has announced the appointment of Dr. Paul Bebenimibo as the Registrar of the institution just as two other principal officers have also been appointed into other key administrative positions.
Others appointed include: Abduldayan Fatimah Jibril and Tamaraudebaemi Justin as the University Librarian and Bursar respectively. It was reported that the decision for their appointment was reached during the University’s 21st Governing Council meeting, held on April 15, 2025, in Warri, Delta State.
Before this appointment, Dr Bebenimibo is the Head of Broadcasting, Journalism and Media Studies at Delta State University, Abraka. Dr Bebenimibo emerged as the top candidate after a rigorous selection process which was led by an eight-member interview panel set up by the University. As an accomplished academic administrator with years of experience in Higher Education Management, Dr Bebenimibo was also at a time, commissioner representing Ijaw Ethnic Nationality, DESOPADEC with an outstanding records of integrity, dedication- all are yardsticks for his appointment.
In a statement by Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the institution, Abdullahi Bardi, the appointment followed due process as it is accordance with the University’s statutory regulations. According to Bardi, the appointment is in order adding that, their wealth of experience and professionalism would greatly enhance the continuous growth and development of the Nigeria Maritime University.
