The Candidate for Delta South Senatorial District on the platform of All Progressive Congress(APC) Joel-Onowakpo’s hope of victory in this year’s elections is rekindled on Monday as he received the blessings of Ijaw Council of Traditional Rulers.
Joel-Onowakpo received Monarchs’ blessings during his consultative visit to the people. The prayers were offered by the monarchs at the palace of the Paramount Ruler of oil-rich Ogulagha Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, and Elder Capt King Joseph I. Timiyan JP in Warri in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.

In his speech presented on behalf of the Ijaw Monarchs, HRM Timiyan, the Chairman of Ijaw Traditional Rulers Council, said Joel-Onowakpo is the best candidate to represent the people in the Senate saying, he is a man with rich profit as his personality speaks volumes.
HRM Timiyan said he is optimistic that the APC candidate would win the election, adding, it will be a good development to have another Izon-speaking Senator at the National Assembly after the expiration of Senator James Manager’s tenure. He therefore urged all Ijaw sons and daughters to vote Joel-Onowakpo come February 25th, 2023..
Speaking further, the Royal Father said Joel- Onowakpo has wealth of experience to put to bear in the house when elected as he has shown proficiency in time, human and resources’ management, saying, that Delta South would take its rightful position when the APC candidate is elected to represent the district.
He said:“Your personality alone commands respect and your articulation shows good leadership qualities. I am happy and proud to see you speak Ijaw so fluently. This means another Izon-speaking man will be at the Senate after James Manager’s,”

Earlier in his speech, Joel-Onowakpo said he has served in three different spheres in his public life – a successful businessman, a civil servant who retired as an Assistant Director saying, he was just there to intimate them that he is an Ijaw man who speaks Izon language fluently with vast experience and qualification to serve the people as no one is more qualified than he is.
He said:”No one on the ballot today is more qualified and competent than I am. Therefore, I plead with you my Royal fathers to support me as your son and the most qualified candidate so we can make Delta South great together”..
Joel Onowakpo who also spoke about his achievements in public and private sectors, especially at the Delta State Board of Internal Revenue (DBIR) said, he will represent Delta South judiciously with fairness and equity to all its formation ethnic groups.
