The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council has congratulated the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Ari Mohammed Ali on his promotion as Assistant Inspector General of Police saying, his promotion is a well deserved one. In a press statement signed by Comrade Michael Ikeogwu, the State Chairman NUJ and Comrade Patrick Ochei, Secretary said since his assumption of office as Commissioner of Police in Delta State, the NUJ has had an understanding with him on issues bordering on operational partnership, security of Journalists and assistance when necessary and can attest to the fact that so far, so good, the cordial relationship that has existed between the union and the Police boss is long standing one.
Part of the statement reads:” We can attest to the fact that so far so good; the cordial relationship that has existed between us is one to cherish for a long time. As the man at the helm of the internal security of the State, he has done well since resuming office”.
According to the statement, the CP who is now Assistant Inspector General of Police introduced some professional and crime preventive measures that yielded enormous security gains to the state not withstanding unavoidable and unfortunate circumstances including the recent unwarranted murder of a popular phone dealer in Asaba recently, Late Onyeka Ibe.

The statement added that as the fourth estate of the realm, the body has had good working relationship that will be retained in their memoirs for a long time adding that as the umbrella body of all practising journalists in the state, they wished CP the best in his new office as he soar high in his career.
