Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Ari Muhammed Ali FCIA, psc+, has ordered the detention of an Inspector of Police, one Inspr. Ebri Ubi. for allegedly killing one Mr. Onyeka Ibe just as the Command expressed heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and concerned members of the public and promised justice would be done in this regard.
In a press statement signed by the Delta State Police Command’s Image Maker, DSP Bright Edafe and made available to news men said Mr. Onyeka Ibe, was reportedly shot dead on the 5th April 2023 at about 0930 hours by an Inspector of Police, one Inspr. Ebri Ubi, while on stop and search duty along Ugbolu-Illah Road, Oshimili North Local Government Area, Delta State.
According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police who has just been promoted to the rank of an Assistant Inspector General of Police(AIG) received the news with rude shock and immediately ordered for the arrest of the Police Officer just as he said, he(Inspr Ebri Ubi) should be transferred to the State Criminal Investigations Department Asaba for speedy investigation to be carried out.

The statement added that the CP said the Force is a disciplined organization and will not condone such cruel action by any member of the Force and assured that offending officer will be subjected to internal disciplinary measures including criminal prosecution.
The CP now AIG therefore appealed to the members of the public to remain calm and law abiding while justice take its course in this regard.
