The Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) Ward 9 in Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State, Mr. Vincent Okokoje was reportedly slumped and died. Confirming the incident, APC Ward 12 Chairman, Comrade Gabriel Omorere said they all attended a meeting together on Wednesday at the residence of an APC leader in Warri South, along Warri/Sapele Road, Chief Ojogri, saying, they got the report that APC stalwart died on Thursday morning.
He said:“We attended a meeting together at the residence of an APC leader in Warri South, Chief Ojogri on Wednesday along Warri/Sapele Road. We only got the news that he died on Thursday morning.”
According to Comrade Omorere, the death of Okokoje came as a rude shock to the APC in Warri South in particular and Delta State in general adding, late Okokoje was a gentleman, peace lover and his friendships knew no bound. He said the deceased was a very hardworking man and was among the three ward Chairmen who won their wards in the just concluded elections in Warri South Constituency 11.
In a condolence visit to the deceased’s wife, children and family led by Comrade Omorere and accompanied by APC Chairmen in Warri South, Comrade Omorere said, Mr Okokoje will be greatly missed adding, his departure has created a big vacuum within the APC in Warri South and therefore prayed they would get someone like him to work hard and move the party forward. Comrade Omorere prayed God to give the wife, children and the entire family of the deceased the fortitude to bear the irrespirable loss.
It was gathered that at the time of filling in report, the wife, children and members of the deceased’s family were in a state of mourning due to this ugly incident.
