A Warri- based Journalist and DAILY POST Newspaper Correspondent in Delta State, Mr. Matthew Omonigho has bagged Global Peace award. The prestigious award which was given to him by Institute of Global Peace and Conflict Management, IGPCM recently in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State has made him a fellow in this direction.
Omonigho was inducted along with eighteen others by IGPCM President-in-Council, Dr. Asiwaju Adetunberu Oludotun in a training workshop certification of fellowship investiture and Global Peace Icon Award Ceremony .
IGPCM, President-In-Council who was represented by IGPCM Vice President, South-East Zone, Dr. Nworgu Okey-Theodore charged the inductees to be good ambassadors of the Institute.
Responding on behalf of the inductees, Bob Eilwuribr thanked the Management of the Institute for the investiture just as he promised that they would be good ambassadors of the body.
On his part, Mr. Matthew Omonigho expressed gratitude for the Institute for the honour done him and others just as he added his voice to that of Bob Eilwuribr in this direction saying, he would not only preach peace but ensures that peace reigns in any environment he duels.
According to him, the importance of peace can not be emphasized in man’s existence and advised every one including communities and state that are at war to tow the path of peace as no meaningful development can take in the atmosphere of rancor.

His words:” Peace is very essential in the lives of every human, communities and country. Everyone including communities that are at war should tow the path of peace to attract meaningful development to themselves in their various communities, state and the nation at large”. The high point of the programme was the presentation of the awards to the awardees amidst cheers.
