The mother of the Head of Anti-Cult Group in Boboroku Community in Ethiope West Local Government Area, Delta State, Mrs Onokero Nesisa Ogude has raised an alarm over the threat by some cult boys identified as Evans Akponu Tobi and Venture Godwin Ogbeni in Boboroku Community to behead the Head of Anti-cult Group in the community, Mr. Nesisa Believe Ovefe Ogude to have dared arrest some of their members who beat up and injured one Hausa trader in the community.
Mrs Ogude raised the alarm today Thursday when speaking with Bailout Magazine. She said, yesterday (Wedneday,2022) there was misunderstanding between Evans Akponu Tobi and Venture Godwin Ogbeni’s cult group and one Hausa trader in the community and they (Cult group) beat up and injured the Hausa trader. Angered by their action, the Head of Anti-cult Group in the community and some community men arrested the cult boys involved.
She further said, the two cult boys: Evans Akponu Tobi and Venture Godwin Ogbeni in the community brought gun to threaten her at home saying, they will kill the Community Anti-cult Group, Mr. Nesisa Believe Ovefe Ogude just as the way they killed his brother, Mr. Nesisa Wisdom Oghenebrorhue Ogude, some months ago.
She said:” They (Evans Akponu Tobi and Venture Godwin Ogbeni) came to me this morning with gun and said they will kill my son, Mr. Nesisa Believe Ovefe Ogude the way they earlier killed my son, Nesisa Wisdom Oghenebrorhue Ogude some months ago.”
The mother of the Anti-cult Group in the community who said she had already lodged her complaint with Jesse Police Station and Delta State Police Area Command in Ethiope West and Sapele in Sapele Local Government Areas respectively Delta State, therefore called on Delta State Government led by Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, Delta State Commissioner Of Police, the Local Government Chairman, and other relevant body to wade into the matter. Mrs. Ogude Nesisa Onokero said, she is still mourning death of the son that was earlier killed by same Cult group saying, now again, they are planning to kill her another son.
She said:” I am still mourning the death of my son earlier killed, now, they planning another one, what have I done to deserve this? I use this medium to call on the Delta State Government, the Commissioner of Police, the Local Government Chairman, and the other body to wade into this matter”.
In recent times, cult activities have become the order of the day in Boboruku Community in Ethiope West Local Government Area, Delta State as people are killed nearly on monthly basis. The people in the Boboroku Community can no longer sleep with two eyes closed because of the activities of the cult boys as they kill people at will with little or no provocation. One can not forget in a hurry the recent case where Chief Idogho was killed in his house with axes and machetes at about 8.00 pm by boys suspected to belong to cults groups in the community.
