The 8 days Feast of Tabernacles celebrated by Acceptable Christian Church,15 Skinn Road, Warri in Warri South Local Government Area Delta State, loaded with fun- fair has successfully ended with a call on Christians all over the world to have genuine repentance. Speaking on the sermon titled:” We Are One in Christ Jesus“, the Pastor of the church, Pastor David O. Amanoritsewo said, those who believe and live in Christ Jesus are unique family adding, Jesus Christ is the hope of the world. He said, those who belong to Christ Jesus and love one another as Jesus loves the world hence, died for the sin of mankind, which has given hope of salvation today, are unique.
He said:”We are justified by faith Jesus Christ which translates to righteousness and because of one faith, we have peace with God”. He said God glories man walking in Christ saying, this leads to new creature. According to him, the new family is when one partners with God, saying, the covenant is that” we love one another which is the agape love and with that, we all are one in Christ because we are Christ’s disciples with one faith”.
He said it is this agape love that distinguishes man from the circular world’s love adding, if man wears Jesus Christ like garment he has joined the new family.
The Cleric who quoted Ephesians 2:22-23, Romans 5:1-5,John 13:33-5,Galatians 2:11-14, among others from the Holy Bible to support his sermon charged Christians to repent genuinely, stop doing evil and join the unique family of Jesus Christ or face the wrath of God.
On his part, Brother Monday Igbinosun in his sermon titled: “If You Celebrate The Feast Of Tabernacles, God Will Bless You But You Don’t, God Will Curse You “said, the celebration of the feast of tabernacles is total obedience to God’s commandment just as he said, failure to do the same is disobedience which leads to a curse. According to him, the feast is important because God Almighty ordained it saying, no other feast that God ordained. He said it is an instruction given to Israel by God Almighty that they celebrate the feast for eight days –right from the time of Joshua till this day as it will bring about joy.
He said:”Right from the time of Joshua to Jesus Christ and till today, the feast of tabernacles is celebrated to get the blessings of God”. Brother Igbinosun said irrespective of the position one occupies on earth: Bishop or Pastor, one is required to celebrate the feast of tabernacles to obtain God’s favour. Brother Igbinosu quoted many portions of the Holy Bible to buttress his sermon and these include: Det. 16:13-16, John 7:1-5; 10-17; 37-39; Zachariah 14:16; Jere.7:1-21; Matthew 15:7-9 among others.
