MANROY Global Services Limited, in partnership with TANTITA Security Services Nigeria Limited, on Wednesday donated a brand-new 18-seater bus to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Warri Correspondents’ Chapel, to enhance members’ mobility in the discharge of their professional duties.
The formal handover ceremony took place at the ManRoy Global Services office along the DSC Expressway in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.
Speaking during the event, the Managing Director of ManRoy Global Services, Mr. Collins Okorie, said the donation was borne out of the cordial relationship existing between the NUJ Warri Correspondents’ Chapel and the two companies. According to him, the vehicle will ease the movement of journalists as they carry out their responsibilities of informing the public.
“Journalists are an important part of society. Without the media, information cannot be effectively disseminated. We value your role and are pleased to support your work,” Okorie said. Also speaking, the Administration Manager of TANTITA Security Services Nigeria Limited, Princess Daisy Jaja, said the donation aligns with the company’s corporate social responsibility policy aimed at supporting institutions that contribute to societal development.
She noted that the bus would enable journalists to travel together to assignments, thereby improving coordination and reducing transportation challenges. “It is always difficult moving in different vehicles. With this bus, members can attend events together and return together. It will make their work easier,” she said.
Jaja further disclosed that TANTITA has maintained a longstanding relationship with the NUJ Warri Correspondents’ Chapel, recalling that the company had earlier built and donated a befitting secretariat to the union. The Ovie of Great Idjerhe Kingdom, His Royal Majesty King Monday Obukowho Whiskey, PhD, commended ManRoy Global Services and TANTITA Security Services for the gesture and urged them to sustain the partnership with the media.
Receiving the vehicle on behalf of members, Chairman of the NUJ Warri Correspondents’ Chapel, Comrade Okakuro Akpokona Omafuaire, expressed profound appreciation to the management of both companies for the donation.
“We are grateful for this generous gesture. You have increased our capacity to perform our duties effectively. As this vehicle moves across communities, it will continue to showcase the goodwill and support of ManRoy and TANTITA,” he said. Omafuaire appealed to the management of ManRoy Global Services to sustain its cordial relationship with the union, noting that stronger collaboration between both parties would promote mutual growth and development.
Earlier, Mr. Silver Ofugara welcomed journalists, guests and the traditional ruler to the company’s office and appreciated everyone for honouring the invitation. The highpoint of the ceremony was the symbolic presentation of the keys and official handover of the 18-seater bus to the leadership of the NUJ Warri Correspondents’ Chapel amid cheers and applause from members and invited guests.
