Pastor Samuel Ijomone of the Church of the Anointing, Orhuwhorun Road, near Ovwian Community in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State has urged Christians to embrace sacrificial thanksgiving to God as such brings abundant blessings to His people.
Ijomone made the call on Sunday during the church’s annual thanksgiving service. Delivering a sermon titled: “The Sacrifice of Thanksgiving,” Ijomone said that true thanksgiving must be sacrificial. According to him, thanksgiving without sacrifice does not reflect genuine gratitude.
The cleric who took his text from Psalm 103:1, Luke 17:14, among others , urged Christians to continue to appreciate God irrespective of life challenges. “It is very easy to choose not to thank God. “It is also very easy for human beings to be unthankful because many times, the flesh and the enemy give you a focus, and that focus is to see the negativity.

“The little benefits and the good that you see, do not forget them, do not over- look them, always acknowledge them,” he said. Ijomone identified the sacrifices of remembrance and giving as key parts of thanksgiving. He further said that giving was expressed through words of gratitude, songs, and sowing of seed.
The cleric assured worshippers that a life of genuine thanksgiving attracts God’s power. He, however, said that signs and wonders accompanied thanksgiving, and urged believers to imbibe the habit of giving thanks. The service of the day was climaxed with worship songs and prayers to the glory of God..
