All roads will lead to the Dome Event Centre, Asaba, on Friday as Delta State holds a special “Praise and Thanksgiving Day” to commemorate the third anniversary of the administration of Sheriff Oborevwori. The programme, scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m., is aimed at appreciating God for the peace, unity and developmental strides recorded across the state under the Oborevwori’s administration .Governor Oborevwori is expected to serve as Chief Host at the event, which forms part of activities lined up to celebrate his three years in office.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Delta State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu, said the thanksgiving service would provide an opportunity for Deltans to express gratitude to God for His guidance and blessings upon the state.
Aniagwu called on residents from all walks of life to participate in the spiritual gathering, describing it as a moment of reflection, worship and prayers for continued peace and progress in Delta State. According to him, the event will bring together political leaders, government officials, traditional rulers, religious leaders, youths and residents across the state in an atmosphere of praise and thanksgiving.
He noted that the programme would also enable citizens to reflect on the achievements recorded by the Oborevwori administration over the past three years while seeking divine direction for greater accomplishments.
His words: “The Delta State Praise and Thanksgiving Day offers us an opportunity to appreciate God Almighty for His grace, peace and blessings upon our state and to seek His continued guidance as we continue on the path of growth and development”. He added that special prayers would be offered for sustained peace, unity and prosperity in Delta State and Nigeria, urging residents to turn out in large numbers and participate actively in the programme.
The event will feature worship and praise sessions, while renowned cleric, Joshua Selman, is expected to minister. Governor Oborevwori is also expected to lead top government officials and other stakeholders at the gathering, regarded as one of the major highlights of activities marking the administration’s third anniversary in office.
