Chevron Nigeria Limited,a multinational oil and gas.company in Nigeria has reaffirmed its commitments of its two companies: Noble Energy EG Ltd. and Noble Energy Cameroon Ltd for the development of Yoyo-Yolanda Project, as the Republic of Equatorial Guinea (“EG”) and the Republic of Cameroon (“Cameroon”) signed the unitization agreement for the project on February 3, 2026.
In a statement signed by Olusoga Oduselu, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Chevron Nigeria and Mid Africa Region and made available to newsmen, the Chairman and Managing Director Chevron Nigeria and Mid-Africa Region said that the Yoyo‑Yolanda Field is a cross‑border offshore gas field shared between Equatorial Guinea and Cameroon, containing an estimated 2.5 TCF of gas in place.
His words:” The Yoyo‑Yolanda project is central to Chevron’s strategy of supporting long‑term Liquefied Natural Gas (“LNG”) supply and leveraging existing infrastructure at Alen and Punta Europa. The agreement enables Chevron and its partners to continue to advance the Yoyo-Yolanda project”.
According to the statement,on March 18, 2023, the Republic of Equatorial Guinea and the Republic of Cameroon signed a bilateral treaty between the two countries adding that the agreement gave room for the joint development of oil and gas reserves at the two countries’ maritime border in the Gulf of Guinea including that of Chevron-operated Yoyo and Yolanda fields.
In a related development, the organization has won corporate social responsibility Leadership award. In a statement signed by the same Olusoga Oduselu, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Chevron Nigeria and Mid Africa Region and made available to newsmen, the award was received at the Award night organized at the State House, Aso Villa Abuja on Tuesday February 3, 2026, as part of the 2026 Nigeria International Energy Summit.
According to the statement,the award was presented to Chevron by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of The Gambia, Sering Modou Njie, and was received by Segun Kuteyi, Director of Operations and Michelle Pflueger, Director of Asset Development on behalf of Chevron Nigeria and Mid Africa Region.
The statement further said the Award citation highlighted Chevron’s Corporate Responsibility leadership among companies whose social initiatives go beyond philanthropy, create sustainable, measurable benefits for communities and society at large. According to the statement, the organization distinguished itself as a model of responsible corporate citizenship through strategic investment in education, health and economic empowerment as the company understands that sustainable business must always be built on sustainable people.
In his comments on the award, the Chairman and Managing Director of the organization,Jim Swartz, said Chevron has been in Nigeria for over 60 years and has contributing to the growth and development of the country and making human investments that deliver long-term transformative returns.

According to the statement, the Chairman highlighted organization’s contribution to sustainable development of communities in the Niger Delta through its legacy Global Memorandum of Understanding (GMoU) and currently, the Host Community Development Trusts (HCDTs) under the Petroleum Industry Act, 2021, as well as the Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND).
According to the statement, present at the occasion were the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil) Senator Heineken Lokpobiri who represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Ministers of Petroleum, Energy from other African countries, Chief Executive of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), captains of industry among other dignitaries.
