The Supervisory Bishop and Chairman, Bishops Forum of Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, Delta State, His Grace lfiokabasi Udo has decried society decadence occasioned by social vices such as hatred, violence, corruption, misinformation, religious intolerance, injustice, and a growing lack of compassion for one another and called for both spiritual and moral renewal.
The Cleric stated this while addressing on Saturday, members of Nigeria Union of Journalists Warri Correspondents’ Chapel in Warri, Warri South Local Government Area. According to him, apart from the above, many families are not only under pressure, youths disoriented and disenchanted but truth is most often sacrificed for convenience or physical gains.

The Cleric said there is need for all persons to love one another as his organization stands for the truth at all times. According to him, spiritual leaders and Journalists, should uphold the truth at all times in the world where falsehoods, fear and division hold sway, adding, as the motto of the his religious organization’s is love, faith and hope. His words: ‘We all share as spiritual leaders and Journalists alike to uphold truth in a world increasingly challenged by falsehood, fear, and division”.
According to the Cleric in their radio discussions, they have emphasized that love is not merely a word, but a way of life as without love, faith becomes hollow, and hope loses its anchor. The Cleric who quoted many portions of the Holy Bible including Corinthians 13:13,
John 8:32, Matthew 24:12, John 13:35 among others, appreciated Warri NUJ for standing with the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star always. While thanking Nigeria Union of Journalists, Warri Chapel, for their support to the Brotherhood over the years especially in the area of partnership by amplifying the message of Brotherhood Half Hour, a programme dedicated to life transformation, divine healing, and moral reawakening, he charged them to continue in this spirit.

His words: “We sincerely thank the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Warri Chapel, for your unwavering support to the Brotherhood over the years, especially your partnership in amplifying the message of Brotherhood Half Hour, a programme dedicated to life transformation, divine healing, and moral reawakening”. According to him, when both spiritual leaders and Journalists come together, the promotion of messages that heal rather than divide, inform rather than mislead, and inspire rather than inflame is possible.
The Cleric said with journalists promoting truth, fairness, ethical reporting, love for humanity, and responsible reporting, it is possible to collectively curb the spread of hatred, fake news, extremism, and moral collapse and raise a generation that has values integrity, peace, and unity.
His Grace Udo used the medium to send the message of His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu King of Kings and Lord of Lords just as he reaffirmed the organization’s readiness to partner with Warri NUJ Correspondents’ Chapel to disseminate the message of love, faith, and hope across the state in particular and the world at large. The Cleric also used the opportunity to invite Warri NUJ to the Delta State Bishops Forum Maiden Conference and Retreat, scheduled for March 2026.
According to him, it would be a historic gathering for spiritual renewal, dialogue, and strategic engagement on the role of faith, leadership, and the media in nation building as their presence and participation would make the programme more colorful and wished them God’s blessings.
